The Experiment

The Experiment follows doctors and patients through an experiment with new, ground-breaking cancer treatment which uses the patients’ own immune cells to kill the cancer. This new method is being tested on malignant melanoma patients, and they are the first in Europe to use the treatment. Throughout one year, the film follows the young doctor Rikke Andersen. The film gives a rare insight into the new treatment on two women with melanoma. Both women are in their forties, they are married and they have children. They are incurably ill and have run out of treatment options. Participating in the experiment may be their last chance to see their children grow up.
