In TEAM NUGGETS we follow the main character Karla. Karla is a curious young chicken who lives in a hen house with her family. The series revolves around everyday life with Karla and her classmates in a Danish small-town school.
Each of Karla’s friends and classmates are very unique individuals. Including Karla’s best friend Ib, a 150-year-old melancholic gnome, who is, by far, the smallest member of the class and often overlooked and forgotten, even by Karla; Tilde Victoria, who has a television set for a head and doesn’t speak, but communicates via her screen, showing animated clips, signs and emojis; and Heinz, the ill-tempered tomato kid, who struggles to control his anger.
The design of each kids’ family and home is based on a theme deriving from them. Heinz the tomato head lives in a greenhouse and his parents are two giant sunbathing tomatoes. Even though the series is set in a crazy, colorful and humorous environment, the episodes revolve around well-known everyday situations that mirrors the lives of 6-8-year-olds.
TEAM NUGGETS explores recognizable dilemmas for all kids, dealing with emotions, what is right and wrong and how to interact with friends, enemies, parents and not least themselves. The script work of the series has been evaluated by Danish child psychologist Margrethe Brun Hansen in order to stay true to our target group’s own conflicts and experiences.
