Still Breathing

When the ambulance stops in front of the emergency room, a team of doctors and nurses is ready to do everything in their power to save the person on their way in. Rich or poor, old or young - this is our social democratic cornerstone. But the system has started to crack. A tsunami of elderly, political wrangling over resources, and an increasing shortage of personnel paint a bleak future for our healthcare system. The challenges are already lined up and will increase in the future. This is what our characters will face. In a medium-sized Norwegian city, at a somewhat worn hospital, Petra (26) has just started her internship. Together with hopeful interns Joakim, Ashan, and Kissy, she will be thrown into a job where the days are long, the patients are many, and the medical cases are complicated. Petra is conscientious, thorough, and ambitious - the kind of doctor we dream of meeting when we are sick and at our most vulnerable. But what happens when that doctor is not the best for the hospital? The four interns do not know each other, but throughout the series, transformative experiences and profound dilemmas will bring them closer together than one ever is with their closest friends.
