Info

As part of the Danish Kingdom, Greenland has always held a very special place with the Danish Royal Family. After Queen Margrethe II stepped down in 2024 and passed the throne to her son, King Frederik X, it is now the new King’s role to be the royal caretaker of Greenland. King Frederik has, since he was little, found Greenland especially fascinating. Now, as the new King, he will travel to Greenland along with his beloved wife, Queen Mary, on their first trip as King and Queen. Greenland is the world’s largest island, so it’s quite a journey the Royal Couple have embarked on. We will follow King Frederik and Queen Mary on their long and fascinating journey as they meet all parts of Greenlandic society, from traditional hunters to modern politicians. All of this is part of recognizing and celebrating the longlasting relationship between Denmark and Greenland.
