The Head
The Head
In April 1943, twelve European medico-legal experts flew from Germany to Russia. Their task: to identify 15,000 bodies, all liquidated Polish officers. Sixty-five years later, in February 2005, a head turned up at the medico-legal institute in Copenhagen, Denmark. A scull from one the officers.
The film tells the story of who this man was and how the medico-legal experts, confronted with such gruesome evidence of the war’s inhumanity, were marked for life.
