Girl In Return

Girl In Return

What happens when an adopted teenage girl decides to change her destiny by taking charge over her fight against the system?

The film follows Amy as she decides to go up against the Danish and Ethiopian authorities, attempting to repeal and terminate her adoption, as well as desperately trying to restore her lost relations by reclaiming her identity.

Amy has a burning desire to repair the family ties that were broken one day almost 10 years ago. On that day, aged nine, she was forced to leave her mother and two sisters in Ethiopia as she was declared fit to be adopted by a Danish family. Amy never adjusted to life in Denmark or Danish culture, and instead felt a deep longing and grief due to the loss of her family, language and culture. With footage over a span of five years, we see the Ethiopian girl in a paramount period of her life, from the age of 13 to 18. Will Amy finally find the love she has been longing for all her life?
