Magomed (10) is a thoughtful and quiet boy from Chechnya who is undergoing an existential transformation. In the beginning Magomed does not participate much in the social life in the classroom but Dorte, his teacher sees him as a very clever and bright student. Slowly Magomed gains confidence and starts making friends and after months of waiting he and his family gets a residence permit to stay in Denmark. The joy though soon comes to an end when it becomes clear that his father, as the only person in the family, cannot stay in Denmark and risks being sent back to Chechnya. Magomed now embarks on a mission to understand what happened to his father back in Chechnya and with the fact that he might lose his father. Renowned director Andreas Koefoed has followed the children extensively over a period of more than 3 years and has gained access to an intimate and normally closed environment.
