Against the Race – The Ultimate Rally

The makers of Against the Race-The Ultimate Rally were given unprecedented access to the Dakar Rally, from the behind the scenes preparations to the race itself in their quest to make the ultimate Rally film.

The film takes the viewer on an extraordinary journey from Lisbon through the African desert to Dakar – on what can only be characterised as the ultimate adventure.

The Dakar Rally, the world’s longest and most brutal motor race attracts real men and the toughest tomboys. It is literally survival of the fittest, and completing the race is in itself an enormous achievement. The film also offers a rare glimpse into a predominantly masculine world-a world that rivals the armed forces for its masculine mystique.

Ultimately, the film captures a special group of adventurers will-ing to face some of the most hostile environments in the Northern Hemisphere, in a race that shows no mercy and has taken lives.
