A Family at War is about an American family with military tradition, who lose their son in the war against Saddam Hussein in Iraq. We follow the family members’ development over a time span of a year – how they attempt to get on with their lives, now continually shadowed by their son’s death. Their individual ways of reacting causes tension, drawing the war into the bosom of the family. For the mother Roxanne it becomes a political awakening, an acknowledgement that she for far too long has excused herself with being an average person but now the time has come to get involved.
